Disclosure of Payments by Flynn Pharma Ltd. 2013

 

As part of an important move towards greater transparency and building improved trust and confidence between the medical community, industry and patients across the UK, The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry requires companies to publicly declare, at an aggregate level, payments made to healthcare professionals and institutions during the previous calendar year. To support this goal Flynn Pharma Ltd. is pleased to make the following declarations public;


2013 Grants and Donations to Healthcare Professionals

In 2013, Flynn Pharma Ltd. made 142 payments totalling £78,606.20 to 95 UK-based healthcare professionals for providing advice and consultancy, including chairing and speaking at educational meetings, assistance with training and participation in advisory boards and market research-based activities. Within this overall figure, Flynn Pharma Ltd. retained the services of 3 UK-based healthcare professionals on on-going consultancy contracts making payments totalling £66,600.13. All payments made to healthcare professionals were reasonable, appropriate to the service provided, within market rates and reflect the time the healthcare professionals spent working with and on-behalf of Flynn Pharma Ltd.

Note: These figures do not include payments to healthcare professionals in relation to research and development work, including the conduct of clinical research.

Flynn Pharma Ltd also paid a total of £46,530.67 in travel costs and business expenses to support 48 UK-based HCPs to attend scientific conferences and meetings during 2013. Sponsorship in this context includes registration fees, costs of accommodation and reasonable travel expenses (both inside and outside the UK).


2013 Grants and Donations to Healthcare Organisations
Flynn Pharma Ltd. provides grants and donations to UK healthcare organisations to support the purchasing of medical equipment, research where Flynn Pharma Ltd. is not directly involved in the activity and to support their employees/ members to undertake medical education/ studies run by independent third parties or enhance service development.

2013 Grants and Donations to Patient Organisations and Charitable Donations
Flynn Pharma Ltd. provides grants and donations to UK patient organisations and charities to support the activities of the organisations and charities where Flynn Pharma Ltd. is not directly involved in the activity.
In 2013 Flynn Pharma Ltd. provided grants and donations totalling of £10,450 to 5 UK patient organisations and made charitable donations of £22,432.26 to 4 UK charities. Click here to view Flynn Pharma Ltd payments to patient advocacy groups in 2013.

In summary, during the calendar year of 2013, Flynn Pharma Ltd made payments totalling £226,109.26, this consisted of 12 payments of greater than £1000, 44 payments between £500 - 999 and 150 payments under £500 to UK-based Healthcare Professionals, NHS organisations, Patients Organisations and Charities.
